Mrs. Hattie Farre
Passes Away Saturday After a Long Illness. Funeral Will be Held on Monday
Mrs. Hattie Whitaker Farre, widow of W. E. Farre, died at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Whitaker, Saturday, morning about five o’clock.
The announcement of her death came as a great shock to all her friends. Mrs. Farre had been ill for four months, but in the past five or six weeks her condition became alarming. Notwithstading the fact she seemed to be growing worse, everyone hoped there would come some change, some change for improvement in her condition. The cause of her death was goiter.
Mrs. Farre was the only daughter, and was in her forty sixth year. Her husband, W. E. Farre, died in San Francisco about a year ago, after a long fight for health. Her life, by reason of her husband’s long illness, their experiences in the San Francisco earthquake, then by her own failing health, has had much of sadness, but despite it all she has been brave and bright with an always cheerful face and greeting for her friends. All will remember her with a tender memory.
The parents, the one brother, Mr. Eugene C. Whitaker, have the deepest sympathy of all their friends in this loss of daughter and sister.
The funeral will be held Monday afternoon. The hour not yet determined upon.
