Dear Sister
Your letter of several days since received and glad to hear from you. Also directly after hearing from you I got a letter from Francis. She must have had quite a sick spell for typhoid fever is so hard on us. I remember how I felt after laying on my back 4 weeks.
Did you _____ what Frank Burckhalls’s assets and liabilities were and what is the supposition as to his assignment. We have been having quite a wet winter and I haven’t been able to do much on the ranch but look after the stock and put in 50 acres of grain so far. For when it does clear up it stays nice weather for about one week and then commences to rain again.
I should think the property that Frank bought was a good investment. How is Ellie’s health this winter. I suppose Daisy is as fat as ever. Was there skating on the river this winter, it has been a long time since I have had a skate although I still have my skates and if I ever get to use them again it will be when I come back home. When I was back home I noticed Way was using the skates that I learned to skate on.
Enclosed please find $12.00 for last year’s interest and by the time the next interest is due I hope to be able to pay off part of the principle.
Tell Pa that I haven’t forgotten the $50.00 I borrowed of him when I came back home and will try to send him part if not all of it this summer.
Give my Love to all and tell Mary that I would like to hear from her.
I remain Your
Loving Bro.
