Patrol Fund Reaches $882
Contributions to the schoolboy patrol campaign fund have reached $882, it was announced Friday by Edgar Bland, campaign chairman. A goal of $4,000 has been set with which to purchase clothing and equipment for the 259 members of the patrol.
Additional contributions have been made by Matesich Distributing Co., $10; Stewart Manufacuring Co., $10; Dean funeral home, $5; Charles McShane, $5; Jean Cochran of McConnelsville, $2; friend of Madison school $16; Delta Alpha class Central Trinity, $10; Atty. Frank Haines, $5; Eleanore Bailey Johnson, $2; Lincoln PTA, $32; Dr. W. F. Sealover, $5.
A letter which was received this week relative to the campaign follows:
“Dear Mr. Bland:
Enclosed you will find a small contribution for the collection you are taking up for the schoolboy patrol. No one knows better than I how badly they need the equipment you plan to buy with this money. While I was teaching in Zanesville, I was in charge of the patrol in our school and became very interested in the work the boys were doing.
I also was secretary on the schoolboy patrol council the year it was organized. I wish you and the council the greatest success in your drive for funds.
