Last Will and Testament of Hugh M. Cochran
I, Hugh M. Cochran, of McConnelsville, Morgan County, Ohio, do make, publish and declare this my last will and testament.
Item One: I desire and direct that all my just debts and expenses of my last sickness and funeral be fully paid.
Item Two: I give and bequeath unto my daughter, Mary L. Cochran, the sum of Fifteen Hundred Dollars. The said sum to be paid as soon as convenient after my death by my Executor to the Guardian of said Mary L. Cochran in the event that she then be under guardianship, or be a proper subject of guardianship. If said Mary L. then shall be so restored to a condition of mental soundness then I direct that said sum be paid directly to her.
Item Three: I give, devise and bequeath unto my son, Francis W. Cochran, all my right, title, interest and estate in the residence property in McConnelsville, Morgan County, Ohio, which is now occupied by said son and his family and myself as a home, the same being Out Lot Number One in the said Village of McConnelsville. The interest by this Item given and devised to my said son, Francis W. is all my estate and interest which I may own at the time of my death either in law or equity in and to said out Lot Number One. I also give and bequeath to said son, Francis W. All the household and kitchen goods and furniture and all pictures, books and furnishings which I may own at the time of my death. I further give and devise unto my said son, Francis W. the said lot or parcel of ground in said Village of McConnelsville known as River Bank, the same being located near the wharf on the East bank of the Muskingum River, and the same having been deeded to me many years ago by Coffman heirs. It being my intention by this Item to give and devise unto my said son, Francis W. all the real estate in said Village of McConnelsville which I may own at the time of my death, to be my said son's in fee simple absolutely and forever, and I do so devise to him all the real estate which I may own at the time of my death.
Item Four: All the balance, rest, residue and remainder of my property and estate I give and bequeath equally share and share alike to my children Ella Beckett, Fanny Thompson, John B. Cochran, Milton Adair Cochran, Hugh M. Cochran, Jr., and William E. Cochran. In the event that either of said children in this item named shall die before my death, then and in that event the interest and estate herein given to such child or children so dying, shall pass to and vest in the legal representative of such deceased child or children.
Item Five: I hereby nominate and appoint my said son, Francis W. Cochran to be the Executor of this my will.
Item Six: I hereby revoke all former wills by me made.
