To all to whom these Presents shall come know ye that I Hugh Brent for & in Consideration of the Love and Affection which I have and bear unto my affectionate and beloved Wife as well as for diverse other good Causes & Considerations me hereunto moving, have given granted and confirmed, and by these Presents do for me my Heirs exors & Admins give grant and confirm unto my said wife Judith, the following Negro Slaves viz. yellow Joan Aimey & Grace, together with all their future Increase unto my said Wife Judith & her assigns to the only proper use & Behoof of my said wife Judith and her assigns for ever, and I the said Hugh Brent do for myself my heirs exors & Admins covenant grant promise & agree to & with my said wife Judith that she my said wife Judith shall & may lawfully & without the ___ Molestation Hindrance or Denial of me my heirs & exors or admon give dispose of or bequeath by her last Will or by any Deed or Gift Bargain & Sale or other Conveyance in her Life time all or any or every of the aforesaid Negroes & their Increase to any Person or Persons & to such use or uses as she should think fit and also that I the said Hugh Brent all and every of the aforsd Negroes Slaves unto such Person or Persons as my said wife Judith shall think proper to give them by any way or means so aforesaid against me my heirs exors & admins and assigns & against all & every person or Persons claiming or to claim by from or under me them or any of them shall & will forever warrant & defend by these Presents in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this 29th Day September in the year of our Lord 1772.

This Deed of Gift from Hugh Brent Gent to his wife Judith was proved in Court by the Oaths of William Brown and William Wale tow of the witnesses thereto and ordered to lye for further Proof.
