Biography

Benjamin Norris was born in 1819 in Ohio.1,2 He and Eliza Bozman were married on 7 April 1850 in Athens County, Ohio.3 He died in 1881, at age ~62.4 He was buried in New Lexington Cemetery (New Lexington), Perry County, Ohio.2
He was a farmer in 1850.5 Benjamin and Eliza appeared on the 1850 US Census recorded on 3 October 1850 in Trimble Township, Athens County, Ohio. Also enumerated with the household were Daniel Norris 84 born Maryland and Fanny Norris 74 born Maryland5 He was a merchant and farmer in 1860.6 Benjamin and Eliza appeared on the 1860 US Census recorded on 28 July 1860 in Trimble Township, Athens County, Ohio, with Susan and Mary Jane.6 He was a retail dry goods merchant and a farmer in 1870.7 Benjamin and Eliza appeared on the 1870 US Census recorded on 15 June 1870 in Monroe Township, Perry County, Ohio, with Susan, Mary Jane, Charles, and Elizabeth.7 He was a dry goods merchant in 1880.8 Benjamin and Eliza appeared on the 1880 US Census recorded on 8 June 1880 in New Lexington, Perry County, Ohio, with Susan, Mary Jane, Charles, and Elizabeth.8
