George Russell was born about 1751 in England.2,3 He and Elizabeth were married.1 He died in 1843 in Morgan County.2 He was buried in McConnelsville Cemetery (McConnelsville), Morgan County.2
He registered a Baptist meeting house which was his house in Brenchley, Kent, on 17 April 1783.4 George was head of household on the 1820 US Census taken in Morgan Township, Morgan County, Ohio. The household consisted of with one male under 10, one male 16 to 26, one male 45 or older, one female 26 to 45, and one female 45 or older. Two persons were engaged in agriculture.5 He was a Baptist minister and was licensed to solomnize marriage in Morgan County, Ohio, on 28 March 1821.6,7 He was naturalized in September 1824 in Morgan County.8 George was head of household on the 1830 US Census taken in Morgan Township, Morgan County. The household consisted of The household consisted of one male 70 to 80 and one female 60 to 70.9 George and Elizabeth deeded 24 acres to Joseph Barrow on 21 April 1831 in Morgan County. 24 acres in Morgan County10 George was head of household on the 1840 US Census taken in Morgan Township, Morgan County, Ohio. He was probably the eighty to eighty-nine year old male in the James Weeks household11
