Deed John Johnston to Henry Lane

Know all men that J. Johnston of Portage Township Wood County and State of Ohio for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and twenty five dollars to him in hand paid by Henry Lane of the same county and state the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged do hereby bargain sell and convey to the said Henry Lane his heirs and assigns forever, the following real estate, viz. The south half of the south west quarter of section two town four and range eleven together with all the privileges (?) and appurtenances to the same belonging. To have and to hold the same to the said Henry Lane his heirs and assigns forever. Hereby covenanting, that the tile so conveyed, is clear, free and ______: and that he will warrant and defend the same against __ ______whereof the said John Johnston has hereunto set his hand and seal this eleventh day of March in the year eighteen hundred and fifty.

The State of Ohio Wood County ss. Be it remembered that on this eleventh day of March in the year of our Lord: one thousand eight hundred and fifty before me the ___scriber Bailey Clough J.P. personally came John Johnston the grantor in the above conveyance and acknowledged the same to be his voluntary act and deed for the purpose therein mentioned. In testimony whereof, I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal on the day and y6ear last aforesaid.
