Mrs. C. O. Culver Dies Suddenly
Mrs. Judith Culver, 73, of 740 Adair avenue, prominent in civic and church circles, died suddenly last night at her home. She was the widow of Charles O. Culver, who died in 1941.
She had been in failing health but had not been seriously ill. She was found dead this morning.
Mrs. Culver served as president of the Helen Purcell home until this spring, when she retired because of her health. She retained the position of vice president, however.
She was also past president of the Authors club, the Pioneer society, the Amateur Garden club, the Current Events club and the Zanesville Welfare organization.
She was a member of the Forest Avenue Presbyterian church and was also affiliated with the Dorcas society and the Elizabethan class of the church.
Her only survivors are a cousin, Mrs. Carl Snoke, and a step-niece, Mrs. Zella Gigax, both of Zanesville.
She was a daughter of Thomas and Ella Cochrane Griffith and was a life-long resident of Zanesville.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon at the home with Rev. William Schuler of the Forest Avenue church officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood. The body was to be removed from Mader-Peoples funeral home to the residence this afternoon.
