William Hammond to Samuel Cochran
Received for record November 29th. Recorded November 30th A.D. 1831.
This Indenture made this 26th day of Nov. A.D. 1831, bu and between Willima Hammond and Eleaner his wife of the first part and Samuel Cochran of the second part. Witnesseth, That the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars to them in hand paid by the said party of the second part, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained sold and conveyed unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever all that piece and parcel of land lying in the Zanesville land district in Morgan County and being the South ½ of the South East quarter of Sect. 9, Township 10, Range 11, containing _9 acres of land be the same more or less: To have and to hold the above described land with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining. And the said party of the first part covenant that they are possessed of the above land in fee simple, and have full right to convey the same. They also covenant with the said Samuel to warrant and defend the title to sd land to him the said Samuel against all lawful claims whatsoever.

Personally appeared before the subscriber an acting Justice of the Peace in and for said County, the within named grantors and acknowledged the within to be their voluntary act and deed for the purposes therein contained. The said Eleanor having been by me examined separate and apart from her said husband, acknowledged that she signed and sealed the same without fear or coercion of her said husband. I also certify that I am personally acquainted with the within named grantors, and that they are the persons whom they re___ therein ___ to be. Given under my hand and seal this 26th day of Nov. A. D. 1831.
