Deed James Weeks to Geo. Johnson

Know all men by these presents that we James Weeks and Angelar [sic] his wife of the County of Morgan in the State of Ohio for and ins consideration of six hundred dollars to us in hand paid by George Johnson of the County and State aforesaid the receipt whereon we do hereby acknowledge have given and granted and by these presents do give and grant to the said George Johnson and to his heirs and assigns forever A certain tract or parcel of Land situated in the County and state aforesaid. Described and bounded as follows Being part of the East half of the North East quarter of Section No. Two in Township Ten and Range N Twelve Beginning at the North East Corner of the said quarter, thence South on the Section Line 124 poles. Then west ¾° North 44 poles thence North/East 118 poles, thence west ¾° North 23 poles thence North 1° East 76 poles, thence East in the north line of the quarter 67 poles to the place of beginning Containing Forth five acres be the same more or less. To have and to hold the said land, together with all the rights, privileges immunities and appurtenance of whatever nature thereunto belonging unto the said George Johnson and to his heirs and assigns forever. And we the said James Weeds and Angela his wife, for ourselves, our heirs executors and administrators covenant with the said George Johnson and his heirs and assigns that before and until the sealing and delivering of these presents, we were lawfully seized in fee of the above granted premises, and that we have good right and full power in us to sell and convey the same to the same G. Johnson, and that the said premises are free from all former gifts grants or other encumbrances whatever and that we do and will warrant and defend the same to the said George Johnson and his heirs and assigns forever against the lawful claims or demands of all and every person or persons whomsoever. In witness whereof we hereunto set our hands and seals this 4th day of March in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and forty four.

Morgan County ss Be in remembered that in the 4th day of March 1844 before me John Lansley a Justice of the peace in and for the County of Morgan personally came the above named James Weeks and acknowledged the foregoing deed of conveyance and signing and sealing thereof to be his voluntary act and deed for the purposes therein expressed. And at the same time also personally appeared before me Angela Weeks wife of the said James Weeks, and she the said Angela Weeks being by me examined separate and apart from her husband and the contents of this deed being made known to her by me, she, on said separate examination, did acknowledge and declare that she voluntarily, and of her own free will and accord and without fear or coercion of her husband did and now does acknowledge the signing and sealing thereon, and that she is still satisfied therewith this 4th March AD 1844
