Miss Whipple Dies
Miss Corinthia Whipple, 78, one of McConnelsville’s well known residents, died Sunday evening at her home following several months’ illness from complications.
She was one of Morgan county’s prominent school teachers. She taught in the Malta grade schools for 44 years and retired in 1932 after teaching in the county for over 50 years. She was an active member of Trinity Methodist church. The primary Sunday school building, where she taught, was named “Whipple Hall,” in her honor. She was the daughter of Abram and Roxanna Whipple.
She is survived by two brothers, Clayton Whipple, McConnelsville, and Everett Whipple, of Aurora, and one sister, Mrs. Ella Cosgrave, of the home.
The body is resting at the Fisher funeral home.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the home with Rev. G. L. Tennell officiating. Burial will be in the McConnelsville cemetery.
