Know all men by these presents that Henry Bortner of Stark County, Ohio for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and twenty dollars to him paid by Leonard Shroyer of said County the receipt share of is hereby acknowledged Hath granted bargained and sold, and by these presents doth grant, bargain and sell to the said Leonard and to his heirs and assigns forever that land and its privileges and appurtenances which is included within the following meters, bounds, chains, and distances. That is to say beginning at a post the north west corner of a track of land sold by said Bortner to Benjamin Whitmore thence west twenty four chains 25 links to a post thence south thirty three degrees east nineteen chains to a post thence east fourteen chains 12 links to a post in a line with said Whitmore's purchase, and thence north fifteen chains and 62 links to the beginning containing twenty nine acres and 9/10 of an acre of land. The south half of said Section No. four was confirmed to Robert Andrews by patent dated the 16th day of March 1814 and from said Andrews and wife conveyed to said Bortnor by deed dated the 25th day of May 1815. To have and to hold the said tract of land to the said Leonard Shroyer his heirs and assigns in absolute and fee simple right and title. And the said Henry Bortner covenants and agrees to and with the said Leonard Shroyer and his heirs and assigns forever that he will warrant and defend the said track of land to the said Leonard his heirs and assigns against the claims of all persons whatever. In witness whereof the said Henry Bortner hereto signs his name and affixes his seal and Susanna wife of said Henry Bortner in testimony of her relinquishment and discharge of dower in the premises with the said Henry hereto signs her name and affixes her seal the 31st day of May in the year One thousand eight hundred and fifteen.
