Deed James Heller to Phillip Shroyer
Know all men by these presents that we James Heller and Leah Heller wife of the said James Heller of the county of Wood and state of Ohio in consideration of the sum of seven hundred and fifty dollars in hand paid by Phillip Shroyer of the same place have bargained and sold and do hereby convey the said Phillip Shroyer his heirs and assigns forever the following premises situate in the County of Wood and state aforesaid to wit. The south west quarter of the south west quarter of section no. six Town. No. four. North Range No. twelve containing fifty acres and forty hundredths of an acre, and the North west quarter of the North west quarter of section No. seven Town. No. four North of Range Twelve containing forty nine acres and forty six hundredths of an acre be the same more or less. To have and to hold said premises with the appurtenances unto the said Phillip Shroyer his heirs and assigns forever. And the said James Heller for himself and heirs doth hereby covenant with said Phillip Shroyer his heirs and assigns that the premises are free and clear from all encumbrances whatsoever except a mortgage given to Benjamin Hartlay for one hundred and sixty dollars and that he will forever warrant and defend the same with the appurtances unto the said Phillip Shroyer his hiers and assigns forever against the lawful claims of all persons whomever. In testimony whereof the said James Heller and leah Heller have hereunto set their hands and seals this tenth day of December A.D. 1848.

State of Ohio Wood County SS. Before me Theodore G. Frisbie a Justice of the Peace in and for the County aforesaid personally appeared James Heller and Leah his wife and acknowledged the signing and sealing of the within conveyances to be their voluntary act and deed for the premises therein expressed and the said Leah wife of the said James Heller being examined by me separate and apart from her said husband and the contents read and made known to her she then declared that she did voluntarily sign and seal the within instrument without any fear or compulsion from her said husband, and that she is still satisfied therewith this the 27th day of February A.D. 1849.
