Mrs. Abram Whipple is Dead
Mrs. Abram Whipple, whose illness has been previously mentioned in this paper, died Wednesday night about 11:30 o’clock. The funeral will be held Saturday at the Whipple home at 1:30 o’clock, conducted by her pastor, Rev. T. B. Roberts, at the McConneslville M. E. Church.
Mrs. Whipple’s maiden name was Roxanna Weeks. She was the oldest of seven children born to Pas. Weeks and wife and was born April 5th, 1835.
On November 29, 1852 she was married to Abraham Gates Whipple, and they were the parents of eight children, six of whom, with the aged husband, survive her. The children are Mrs. C. B. Brent, J. C. Whipple, Mrs. J. B. Farra, Corintha Whipple, Mrs. W. A. Cosgrave, E. W. Whipple, good men and women who have been the joy of their parents, and most devoted in their care and attention for them in their declining years.
Mrs. Whipple was a life long member of the Methodist Episcopal Church, and lived a conscientious Christian life, leaving a memory of her exemplary life as a rich heritage in children and friends.
Besides her children she is survived by two brothers, William Weeks of Central City, Neb., Jos. Weeks, of Zanesville, Ohio, and one sister, Mrs. Adda Wilson, of Zanesville, who is very ill at this time, having recently been sticken with paralysis.
Through all the ills and hardships of life, through all the joys of life, she was the same, noble, earnest, sustaining to husband, children and friends, and will be tenderly remembered by all who knew her.
