Mrs. C. R. Brent’s Condition
A week ago last Friday Mrs. C. R. Brent, of this place, went out to her father’s, Mr. Abe Whipple’s and while there met with an accident, supposed to be trivial at first, but which in reality was so serious that Mrs. Brent has not been able to be moved from a reclining position without great suffering. It appears that she went up a ladder several feet above the ground to pick cherries, when the limb against which the ladder rested, broke and she was thrown to the ground violently, causing such a shock that she has been almost paralyzed on the left side from the hip down ever since. Dr. Brown is attending her and Mr. Brent has been with her constantly since Saturday until this, Friday morning, when he came to town for a reclining chair. It is thought that the turn toward recovery has now been made.
