Samuel Cochran & Wife To John McMurray
This indenture made and concluded this second day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty one By and between Samuel Cochran of Washington County Pa and Township of Donegall & Margaret his wife of the one part and John McMurray of the same county & state aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Samuel Cochran and Margaret his wife for and in consideration of the sum of thirteen hundred dollars to them in hand paid by the said John McMurray at and before the ensealing and delivering of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted, bargained, sold, alienated, enf___ed, released and confirmed and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell, alien, ___, release and confirm unto the said John McMurray and to his heirs and assigns a certain tract or piece of land lying and being situated on the Waters of Buffalo Creek and bounded as follows, Beginning at a stake thence twelve and one fourth East one hundred and ninety four six tenth poles, to a stake, thence south sixty two and one fourth West one hundred and forty six and two tenths to a stake thence south twenty nine degrees east fifty four and six tenth poles to a stake, thence north twenty one and one half West thirty eight and three tenth poles to the place of beginning containing seventy one acres, one quarter____ fifteen perches ____ me___, adjoining lands of Samuel McMurray on on the north, on the east by lands of Nathan _. Becky on the east by lands of Charles [Rogers?] and on the south and west by lands of Samuel _. Craig Together with all and singular the appurtenances whatsoever, thereunto belonging and also all the estate ___ ___, interests, property, calim and demand, whatsoever of them the said Samuel Cochran and Margaret his wife, covenant and agree to and with the said John McMurray and his heirs and assigns by these presents, that they the said Samuel Cochran and Margaret his wife and their heirs the said described lot or parcel of land with the appurtenances unto the said John McMurray and his heirs & assings and against them the said Samuel Cochran and Margaret his wife and their heirs and assigns and against all and every other person or persons, lawfully claiming or to claim the same shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents, in testimony wereof the said Samuel Cochran and Margaret his wife have hereunto set their hands and seals, the day and year aforesaid

Be it remembered that on the second day of March in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and forty one before me Isaac Mayes a Justice of the Peace in and for said County, personally appeared Samuel Cochran and Margaret his wife the grantors named in the foregoing deed of conveyance, and serverally acknowledged the same as and for ___ act and deed, and desired that the same might be recored as such according to law, She the said Margaret being by me duly examined separate and apart from her said husband and the full contents thereof being first made known to her, declared she signed the same of her own free will and accord, without any threat compulsion of coercion of the said husband, In testimony wereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal the day & year just above written
