Deed Phillip Shroyer to Samuel Aulis
Wood County, Ohio Deeds vol. M, p. 420, 21 September 1854, recorded 5 Dec. 1854
Know all men, that I Phillip Shroyer of Wood County Ohio in consideration of one hundred and fifty dollars to me paid by Samuel Aulis of the same place the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, do hereby bargain sell and convey to the said grantee his heirs and assigns forever, the following real estate viz. The South half of the West half of the South East quarter of Section two (2), Township four (4) North, of Range Eleven (11) East. Containing forty acres, more or less, together with all the privileges and appurtenances to the same belonging. To have and to hold the same to the said Samuel Aulis, his heirs and assigns forever. Hereby Covenanting that the title so conveyed is free clean and unencumbered and that he will forever Warrant and Defend the same against all claims whatsoever. And Salinda Shroyer, wife of the said Phillip Shroyer in consideration of one dollar to her in hand paid do remise, release and forever quit claim unto the said grantee all her right by way of Dower or otherwise in and to the above granted ___ments. State of Ohio Wood County ss. Be it remembered that on this 21st day of September AD 1854, before me the subscriber, came Phillip Shroyer, the grantor in the above conveyance and acknowledged the same to be his voluntary act and deed, for the uses and purposes therein expressed. And likewise came Salinda Shroyer wife of the said Phillip Shroyer and being by me examined separate & apart from her said husband, and the contents of the above deed being by me made known to her, then there acknowledged the same to be her act and deed, by her voluntarily executed, without fear or coercioun from her said husband, and that she is still satisfied therewith. In testimony whereof, I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal, on the day and year last aforesaid.
