Thompson
Dr. Hugh Cochran Thompson, 72, of 322 East State street, Columbus, a physician and Zanesville native, died at 1:05 p.m. Wednesday at Grant Hospital where he had been a patient the past three weeks.
Dr. Thompson was born July 30, 1901 in Zanesville. He graduated from Lash High School in 1919 and from Ohio State University Medical School in 1926. He later received his certificate for specialization in diseases of the ear, eye and nose from Columbia University. He practiced medicine in Columbus for 35 years. He was a member of the American Medical Association and the Ohio State Medical Association.
Surviving are a brother, Kenneth C. Thompson and a sister, Mrs. Fannie C. Rodgers, both of 727 Seborn avenue.
The body was taken to the Bolin Funeral Home on Blue avenue where service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday and where friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today. Burial will be in Memorial Park.
