Retired City Art Teacher Dies
Miss Beulah C. Thompson, 85, of 727 Seborn avenue, retired art teacher in Zanesville City Schools, died at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in Good Samaritan Medical Center following a long illness.
Miss Thompson was born June 29, 1888, in Zanesville, a daughter of Charles P. and Frances B. Cochran Thompson.
She was past president of Zanesville Business and Professional Women’s Association, past board member of Zanesville YWCA, a member of Muskingum County Red Cross and Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority and a member of St. James Episcopal Church.
Miss Thompson organized the Junior Red Cross here and taught art classes at Muskingum College.
Surviving are two brothers, Dr. Hugh C. Thompson of Columbus and Kenneth C. Thompson of 727 Seborn avenue; a sister, Mrs. Fannie C. Rodgers of 727 Seborn avenue; two nieces and a nephew.
