C. P. Thompson, 90, Called By Death
Charles P. Thompson, 90, of 1090 Linden avenue died in Good Samaritan hospital Sunday morning following a few days illness.
The deceased was a member of one of the pioneer families of this city and resided here all his life. He was born Aug. 25, 1854 to Francis and Emily Pratt Thompson.
On Sept. 21, 1887, he was married to Frances B. Cochran of McConnelsville. He was a member of the St. James Episcopal church.
Surviving the deceased are the following children, Beulah C. Thompson of the home; Mrs. Frances C. Rodgers of Pacific Palisades, Calif., Dr. Hugh C. Thompson of Columbus; Major Kenneth C. Thompson, stationed at San Antonio, Texas, three grandchildren, Marlene A., Kenneth II, and Judith Kay Thompson of San Antonio, Texas, one sister, Mrs. Ira Mathews of West Somerville, Mass., and several nieces and nephews. One son, Charles C. Thompson, is deceased.
Private funeral services will be conducted at the home Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock, Rev. Father Duncan Weeks officiating. Burial will be private in Greenwood cemetery.
The body will be removed to the family residence from the Mader-Peoples funeral home Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock.
