Raymond E. Smith
Raymond E. Smith, 95, of North Fourth Street, McConnelsville, died at 8:52 a.m.
Friday, July 27, 2007, at Genesis Health & Rehab of McConnelsville.
He was born May 4, 1912, in Malta, the son of John and Mildred Pennell Smith.
Mr. Smith was a self-employed electrician. He was a World War II Army National
Guard veteran and served in the 123rd Wagon Brigade.
He was a Protestant by faith and a 65-year member of Corinthian Lodge No. 111 of
McConnelsville.
He is survived by one son, Richard Smith of McConnelsville; three grandchildren,
Tracy and Troy Smith, both of McConnelsville, and Tricia (Mark) Villers of
Marietta; and one great-grandson, Blake Villers of Marietta.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances M.
Parmiter Smith, and one sister, Janice Patterson.
Visitation will be Monday, July 30, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-8:30 p.m. at Matheney
Funeral Home in McConnelsville. Masonic services will be at 8:30 p.m. Monday
evening.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 31, at the funeral home, with Pastor
Galen Finley officiating. Burial will follow in McConnelsville Cemetery.
