Robert Durbin
McConnelsville. Robert A. Durbin, 66, a native of McConnelsville died unexpectedly of an apparent heart attack at 2 a.m. Friday (Jan. 27) at his home in Hobe Sound, Fla.
Born Oct. 8, 1900 in McConnelsville, he was the son of Alfred and Stella Farra Durbin.
He was former Postmaster of Stockport, a member of Hope Sound United Presbyterian Church, Webb Chapter 252, F&AM. Webb Chapter 337, OES, and Retired Postmasters Association.
Surviving are his widow, Margaret Dover Durbin; a daughter, Mrs. Paul McCombs, of Grandville; two sons, Lt. Col. Richard Durbin of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Lt. Col. Robert Durbin of Vandenburg Air Force Base, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Walter Zachman of Rocky River; a brother John of Burbank, Calif.; 10 grandchildren.
The body was taken to Fisher Funeral Home here where friends may call 7 to 9 p.m. today. Masonic rites will be held at 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. Harry J. Young officiating. Burial will be in McConnelsville Cemetery.
