Death Comes to George W. Richards
George W. Richards, 73, of 720 West Main street, died Tuesday afternoon at his home following a three-year illness, resulting from a paralytic stroke.
He was born in Crooksville, the son of Larzelere and Mary James Richards. Mr. Richards had been in the retail grocery business most of his life and owned a store on West Main street for several years, retiring about five years ago.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. J. Benjamin Bowers of 614 Brown street; a son, Edwin Richards, of Dayton; two sisters, Mrs. Ola Slack, of Alto, Texas, and Mrs. Laura Taylor, of Crooksville; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A son, Joe Richards, died five years ago.
The body was removed to the Hearing-Byran-DeLong funeral home.
