Mrs. Alice White Taken By Death
McConnelsville, O. – Mrs. Alice Newton White, 93, died at her home near Stockport Morgan county, about 5:15 o’clock Monday morning, following a week’s illness. She had been in failing health for some time.
Mrs. White was born November 7, 1857 in Windwor township, Morgan county, where she spent all her life. She was of one of the pioneer families of the county. Her parents were Abel and Maria Jane Forsythe Newton. She was the widow of Thomas Reverdy White and was a member of the Methodist church in Stockport.
Surviving are a daughter, Miss Azelia White and a son, Clifford White of the home; another son, Ori White, of Washington, D. C., three grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Laura V. Deavel [sic] of Kensington, Kan., and four brothers, Thomas Newton of Omaha, Neb. Zida Newton of Oxford, Neb., Dr. E. Guy Newton of Stafford, Neb., and Bernard A. Newton, of Cannon City, Colorado.
Funeral arrangements were incomplete. Burial will be at Stockport cemetery.
