James Clendenen & wife To Absolom Willey
Received 25tgh Sept, 1836 Recorded October 5th 1836
Know all men by these presents that I James Clendenen and Charlotte his wife in consideration of the sum of twenty dollars paid me by Absolom Willey of the Township of Noble, Morgan County, Ohio the receipt where of I do her by acknowledge do ____ give, grant, bargain sell and convey unto the said Absolum Willey his heirs and assigns forever the following tract of land viz the North East quarter of the North East quarter of Section No. thirty Township No. seven of Range No. nine containing forty one acres and forty three one hundredths acres of land sold at Zanesville to said Clendenen Situate and lying in the Township of Noble and County aforesaid To have and to hold the said bargained and granted premises with the privileges and appurtances thereof to him the said Absolum Hilley[sic] his heirs and assigns forever and I the said James Clendenen and Charlotte his wife __ ____ ____ our heirs executors and administrators do covenant with the Absolum Willey his heirs and assigns that I am lawfully seized in fee of the premises that they are free from all incumbrances that I have good right to sell and convey the same to the said Absolum Willey to hold as aforesaid and that I will warrant and defend the same to said
Absolum Willey his heirs and assigns forever against the lawful claims and demands of all persons. In Witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals this day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Thirty Six.

On the 17th day of August A.D. ____ before the subscriber a Justice of the Peace within and for said County personally appeared the said James Clendinen and Charlotte Clendinen who signed and sealed the within deed and acknowledged the signing and sealing thereon to be their act and deed for the purposes therein expressed and the said Charlotte Clendenen wife of the said James Clendenen being by me examined separate and apart from her said husband and the contents of said deed being fully made known to her by reading the same in her presence she did declare upson such separate examination that she did voluntarily sign seal acknowledge and deliver the same and that she is still satisfied therewith
