McConnelsville
Wilkes F. Richardson, 99, of 160 N. Seventh St., McConnelsville, died at 5:30 A.M. Wednesday, Nov, 3, 1993, at Good Samaritan Medical center after a fall at his home.
Born Sept, 11, 1894, in Bloom Township in Morgan County, Mr. Richardson was a retired farmer and livestock dealer. He was also a former Morgan County fair Board member, former Morgan County Commissioner, a former McConnelsville village council member, a Mason and member of Corinthian Lodge 111, F&AM in McConnelsville. He was a 70-year member of Beech Grove Grange 2378, a former 4-H leader and attended Mount Carmel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Still Richardson, whom he married Dec 30, 1969; one daughter Ila Jean Palmer of McConnelsville; one stepdaughter, Mary M. Tyson of Ocala, Fla; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; Two great-great-grandchildren; and two step-granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleason B. and Sarah E. Shell Richardson; his first wife, Ellen B. Richey Richardson, who died March 16, 1966, Two sons, Dwight Richardson and Carl Richardson; one sister, Winifred Parmiter and one brother, Paul Richardson.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Friday, Nov. 5, at Miller-Huck Funeral Home, McConnelsville.
Services will be at 1 P.M. Saturday, Nov. 6, at the funeral home with the Rev. Bruce Kent officiation. Burial will be in McConnelsville Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Malta McConnelsville Volunteer Fire Department, 77 S. Fourth St. McConnelsville.
