Deed Sarah Stacy to Wm Ewing
Whereas heretofore, to wit, on the twentythird of May eighteen hundred and twenty nine, Mathew Stacy my husband made and executed a deed in fee simple in consideration of three hundred dollars to William D. Ewing of New Lisbon Ohio of lot number two hundred and twelve in said New Lisbon, lying on market Street immediately south of the lot now occupied by Joseph Gillingham. Now know ye that I Sarah W. Stacy wife of said Matthew Stacy in consideration of the premises and of ten dollars to me by said Wm D. Ewing in hand paid, have granted, bargained, sold, released, remised and forever quit claimed to said Ewing his heirs and assigns, and do hereby grant bargain, sell, release, remise and forever quit claim to said Ewing & his heirs and assigns all my right, title, interest, claim and demand of in or to the aforesaid lot of land, and all dower to which I may or might ever be entitled in or to arise out of said lot. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty fifth day of June eighteen hundred and twenty nine.

State of Illinois Morgan County I William I. May an acting Justice of the peace within and for the county aforesaid do hereby certify that Sarah W. Stacy whose signature appears to the foregoing instrument of writing and who is personally known to me to be the identical individual who subscribed the same, this day came before me, and after being examined separate and apart from her husband and also made fully acquainted with the contents of the above instrument of writing, acknowledged that she signed the same fully and voluntarily _________by fear, threats or compulsion of her said husband.

State of Illinois Morgan County. I Dennis Rockwell clerk for Morgan County _____Court for the county aforesaid do hereby certify that William May before whom the foregoing acknowledgement of Sarah W. Stacy was taken and certified was at the time of taking the same and still is an acting Justice of the Peace within and for the county aforesaid duly commissioned and qualified and that due faith and credit is and ought to be given to all his official acts as such. In testimony whereof I have thereunto set my hand and affixed the seal of said court at Jacksonville this fourth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty nine.
