George Johnson to Joseph Barrow
Filed for record May 5th A.D. 1831. Recorded July 30th A.D. 1831.
`Know all men by these presents that I George Johnson and Sarah my wife of the County of Morgan in the State of Ohio for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and sixty dollars current money of the United States to us in hand paid before the ensealing hereon the receipt whereof we do hereby acknowledge, have given granted, bargained and conveyed and confirmed, and by these presents do freely fully and absolutely give grant bargain sell convey and confirm unto Joseph Barrow his heirs and assigns forever a certain ___ of land, being the East half of the South West quarter of Section No. thirty-five, Township eleven, Range twelve of Lands sold at Zanesville, containing eighty acres be the same more or less.
To have and to hold the said premises with all the appurtenances and privileges and commodities to the said land belonging or in any wise appertaining, unto the said Joseph Barrow, his heirs and assigns forever, to his or their ______ use, as a good, perfect, and absolute estate in fee simple. And we the said George Johnson with Sarah my wife do for ourselves our heirs executors and administrators, do covenant with the said Joseph Barrow his heirs and assigns, that they are lawfully seized in fee simple of the said granted promises, that they are free from all incumbrances and that they do warrant and defend the same to him, the said Joseph Barrow his heirs and assigns forever against that lawful claims of all persons whatsoever.
In witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals this first day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty one.

The State of Ohio, Morgan County
Before me John B. Stone an acting Justice of the Peace in the County aforesaid, personally appeared George Johnson and Sarah Johnson wife of the said George Johnson, the signees of the within deed of conveyance and severally acknowledged the signing and sealing thereof to be their voluntary act and deed. And the said Sarah Johnson being by me examined separate and apart from her said husband, and the contents of the within deed being made known to her, she did then on said examination acknowledge that the she signed and the same freely without the fear threats persuasion or coercion of her said husband, and that she freely and fully relinquished her right of dower in and to the premises therein conveyed. Given under my hand and seal 1st of February 1831.
