Dewey Gene Parmiter

Dewey Gene Parmiter, 83, of McConnelsville, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2011, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
Dewey was born June 17, 1928, the son of Forest Dewey and Rachel Margaret (Greer) Parmiter.
He is survived by his sister, Dorothy Margaret (Parmiter) Shriver; a nephew and niece; grand nephews and nieces; and great-grand-nieces and a nephew. Dewey was especially close to his eldest nephew, Rick, and his sons, Adam and Evan.
Dewey lived his entire life on the family farm with his sister, Dorothy, where he cared for his livestock. He attended the Mary Hammond Adult Activity Center, where he had many friends among the staff and employees. Dewey was an avid collector of John Deere memorabilia and collectibles.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A private service will be held at Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville at the family’s request.
