John Edward Bacon was born on 18 January 1844 in Maryland.^2,1 He was married.³ He died on 11 February 1919, at age 75.^4,1 He was buried in Loudon Park National Cemetery, Baltimore, Maryland.¹

John appeared on the 1880 US Census recorded on 9 June 1880 in Baltimore, Maryland, with their children Grace, Blanche, Carroll, and Annie Laurie.⁵
