Church Tea
A tea was given yesterday afternoon by the women of the Methodist Episcopal church, with the women of the Methodist Protestant church as their guests.
The affair was one of several such events given throughout the county, and was sponsored by the women’s department of the Million Unit Fellowship movement of the M. E. church.
Mrs. Glenn L. Tennell, presided and opened the meeting with a short address of welcome.
Miss Corinthia Whipple led the devotions, and Mrs. Katherine Root sang a solo, accompanied on the piano by Mrs. Tennell. Rev. Tennell, paster of the church, gave an address on the subject, “The Promotion of World-wide Friendship and Good Will.” Mrs. Jerrold G. Scott sand a solo, and May Janet Scott played a piano solo. The guests were invited to the dining room, where refreshments were served and Mrs. F. W. Cochran, president of the Ladies’ Aid society, poured. Mrs. C. S. Dye was chairman of the refreshment committee.
