John R. Bozman, a prominent citizen of McConnelsville, died last Saturday. He was born in Maryland, March 5th 1807, and moved to Morgan county in 1819. He was married to a daughter of Cleason Brady, of Muskingum County, in 1830. She died in 1847, leaving eight children, four of whom are still living. He afterwards married Jane Glass, the mother of two daughters who are still living. She having died in 1873, he was married to Margaret Oliver, who is still living. Mr. Bozman commenced life with little ore than a healthy body, and an indomitable will. His success was due largely to his tireless energy and good judgment. He was careful and considerate in his business transactions. During his long life in Morgan County he has been connected with various industries, but the greater part of his life was spent droving. He has amassed quite a large fortune, though he had given largely to his children. Not withstanding he was, in the latter part of his life, an ardent Democrat, yet he was liberal in his views. His funeral took place Monday, at 2 p.m., and one more of McConnelsville's pioneers has passed from our midst to his long home.
