Mathew Stacy was born about 21 January 1799.1,2 He and Sarah W. Kenney were married in January 1825 in Christian County, Kentucky.3,4 He died on 29 March 1885 in Jacksonville, Morgan County, Illinois.5 He was buried in Diamond Grove Cemetery (Jacksonville), Morgan County, Illinois.6
Mathew was named as an heir in the will of Mathew Stacy on 28 August 1815 in New Lisbon, Columbiana County, Ohio.7 Mathew purchased 80 acres by land patent in Morgan County, Illinois, on 6 April 1829, .8 Mathew and Jane Thomson, William Stacy, and Margaret Sheets deeded lot 212 in New Lisbon to William D. Ewing on 23 May 1829 in Columbiana County, Ohio. The deed stated Mathew was a son of Mathew Stacy deceased.9 He appeared on the Illinois State census in 1830 in Morgan County, Illinois. The Mat Stacy household of 10 people was enumerated as two males 10 or under, one male 10 to 20, two males 30 to 40, one female 10 or under, two females 10 to 20, one female 20 to 30, and one female 70 to 80. Two of the males were subject to military duty.10 He appeared on the Illinois state census in 1835 in Morgan County, Illinois. The Matthew Stacy household of twelve people was enumerated as two males 10 or under, one male 10 to 20, two males 20 to 30, one male 30 to 40, three females 10 or under, one female 10 to 20, one female 20 to 30, and one female 30 to 40. Three of the males were over 18 and under 45 making them subject to military duty.11 Mathew purchades 40 acres by land patent in Morgan County, Illinois, on 1 November 1839, .12 Mathew was head of household on the 1840 US Census taken in Morgan County, Illinois. The household consisted of with two males 10 to 15, one male 15 to 20, one male 20 to 30, one male 30 to 40, three females under 5, two females 10 to 15, one female 15 to 20, and one female 30 to 40.13 Mathew and Sarah appeared on the 1850 US Census recorded on 3 August 1850 in Jacksonville, Morgan County, Illinois, with Margaret, Thomas, Hannah, Sarah, Joannah, and H. B.14 He was County Clerk in 1860.15 Mathew and Sarah appeared on the 1860 US Census recorded on 15 June 1860 in Jacksonville, Morgan County, Illinois, with Margaret, Hannah, Sarah, and Joannah.15 He was a fire and life insurance agent in 1870.16 Mathew and Sarah appeared on the 1870 US Census recorded on 1 June 1870 in Ward 3, Jacksonville, Morgan County, Illinois, with Margaret, Hannah, and Sarah.16 Mathew appeared on the 1880 US Census recorded in June 1880 in Ward 3, Jacksonville, Morgan County, Illinois, with his children Margaret, Sarah, Joannah and Hannah , smf grandchildren Hallie Furgeson, James D. Stacy and George Herbert Stacy.17

John Stacy was christened on 25 August 1793 in St Paul Protestant Episcopal Church, Baltimore County, Maryland.1 John was named as an heir in the will of Mathew Stacy on 28 August 1815 in New Lisbon, Columbiana County, Ohio.3 John and Sarah deeded 31 acres to Thomas Finch on 15 July 1817 in Columbiana County, Ohio.4 John was head of household on the 1820 US Census taken in Unity Township, Columbiana County, Ohio. Sarah W. Kenney was born about 1802 in Kentucky.1 She and Mathew Stacy were married in January 1825 in Christian County, Kentucky.2,3 She died on 10 June 1878 in Jacksonville, Morgan County, Illinois.4 She was buried in Diamond Grove Cemetery (Jacksonville), Morgan County, Illinois.5
Sarah signed a quit claim in Morgan County, Illinois on property which her husband had sold the previous month on 25 June 1829 in New Lisbon, Columbiana County, Ohio.6 Mathew and Sarah appeared on the 1850 US Census recorded on 3 August 1850 in Jacksonville, Morgan County, Illinois, with Margaret, Thomas, Hannah, Sarah, Joannah, and H. B.7 Mathew and Sarah appeared on the 1860 US Census recorded on 15 June 1860 in Jacksonville, Morgan County, Illinois, with Margaret, Hannah, Sarah, and Joannah.8 Mathew and Sarah appeared on the 1870 US Census recorded on 1 June 1870 in Ward 3, Jacksonville, Morgan County, Illinois, with Margaret, Hannah, and Sarah.9
