Biography

Calvin C. Mingus was born about 1817 in Ohio.2 He and Irene Alderman were married in September 1837 in Athens County, Ohio.3 He was married on 2 January 1869 in Morgan County, Ohio.4
Calvin was head of household on the 1840 US Census taken in Homer Township, Athens County, Ohio. one male 20 to 30 and one female 20 to 305 He was a carpenter in 1850.2 Calvin and Irene appeared on the 1850 US Census recorded on 1 October 1850 in Trimble Township, Athens County, Ohio, with Eveline, Marcus, Malinda, Louisa, and Lovisa and 28 year old John Wagoner.2 He was a carpenter and a farmer in 1860.6 He was was working in a saw and grist mill in 1870.4 Calvin appeared on the 1870 US Census recorded on 20 June 1870 in Hughes Township, Nodaway County, Missouri, with Dudley, Louisa, and John.7
