Jane Thomson was born about 1760.1 She and Mathew Stacy were married on 18 December 1780 in New York.2 She died on 1 December 1831 in Sangamon County, Illinois.1,3
She was foreign born according to her son Mathew's 1870 census entry ...4 As a widow, Jane moved to Illinois with her youngest son Mathew ... Mathew and Jane deeded one half of lot 212 on Market Street in New Lisbon to William Stacy on 10 November 1813 in Columbiana County, Ohio.5 Jane was the executrix of the will of her husband Mathew Stacy 28 August 1815 New Lisbon, Columbiana County, Ohio.6 Jane and her sons William and Mathew and daughter-in-law Margaret deeded lot 212 in New Lisbon to William D. Ewing on 23 May 1829 in Columbiana County, Ohio. Jane was identified in the deed as the widow of Mathew Stacy.7

William Stacy was born on 2 June 1791 in Baltimore County, Maryland.1,2 He and Margaret Sheets were married on 7 May 1822 in Columbiana County, Ohio.3 He died on 23 March 1873, at age 81, in Unity Township, Columbiana County, Ohio.4 He was buried in Boatman Cemetery (East Palestine), Columbiana County, Ohio.5,1
He was baptized on 31 July 1791 in St. Paul Protestant Episcopal Church, Baltimore County, Maryland.2 William was deeded lot 44 in New Lisbon by Lewis Kinney on 11 May 1813 in Columbiana County, Ohio. lot 40 in New Lisbon6 William was named as an heir in the will of Mathew Stacy on 28 August 1815 in New Lisbon, Columbiana County, Ohio.7 William was head of household on the 1820 US Census taken in Unity Township, Columbiana County, Ohio. The household consisted of with one male 26 to 44, one female under 10, and one female 16 to 25.8 William and Margaret and William's brother Mathew jr. and mother Jane deeded lot 212 in New Lisbon to William D. He left his farm in Unity Township to his son John F. who was to pay the other heirs $1900 and was also named executor13
