Asa Hussey was born about 4 May 1801 in Maine.1,2 He and Mary Cunningham were married in 1828.3 He died on 29 April 1873 in Union Township, Delaware County, Iowa.4
He appeared on the Illinois state census in 1820 in Monroe County, Illinois. The household consisted of one male 21 or older and two other white persons5 Asa was probably the Asahel Hussey who was deeded property by David Hussey on 28 May 1827 in Morgan County, Ohio.6 Asa was head of household on the 1830 US Census taken in Olive Township, Morgan County, Ohio. The household consisted of one male under 5, one male 20 to 30, and one female 15 to 20.7 Asa and Mary deeded 32 acres in Olive Township (now part of Noble County) to Levi Davis on 23 June 1834 in Morgan County, Ohio.8 Asa was deeded 40 acres by John and Mary Eagler on 1 February 1837 in Morgan County, Ohio.9 Asa and Mary deeded 80 acres in Olive township to William Parrish on 5 January 1839 in Morgan County, Ohio.10 Asa was deeded property by Daniel and Cassania Tutle and Mary Tuttle widow of Linas Tuttle on 8 February 1839.11 Asa was deeded 49 acres by David Rattiff on 2 March 1839 in Morgan County, Ohio.12 Asa was head of household on the 1840 US Census taken in Olive Township, Morgan County, Ohio.
