Elisabeth Cochran was born in 1784.1 She and James Faunce were married.2,3 She died in September 1854, at age ~70.1
Elisabeth Cochran was also known as Betsy Cochran.4,1 James and Elisabeth appeared on the 1850 US Census recorded on 7 November 1850 in Elizabeth Town, Marshall County, Virginia, Also in the household were Mary Faunce, age 25, and Mary A. Way, age 16. This household was recorded immediately before the Robert Cochrane household.5

Biography

James Cochran was born on 7 July 1787.1 He and Rosanna Bricker were married on 10 May 1811 in Muskingum County, Ohio.2,3 He died on 13 October 1825, at age 38.1
He was the builder, with assistance from his brother John, of the first market house in Zanesville, Muskingum County, Ohio, in 1814. «i»
"The First market house was a frame structure, thirty-five feet on Market street, and running back forty-three feet. It was built on squares post with the upper part weather-boarded. The building alone, without hooks or benches, cost the handsome sum of $150. It was built by James Cochran, a brother of John Cochran, divided into six stalls, three on each side."«/i»4,5
James was head of household on the 1820 US Census taken in Donegal Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania. The household consisted of with one male under 10, one male 26 to 46, two females 10 to 16, and one female 26 to 45. one male under 10, one male 26 to 46, two females 10 to 16, and one female 26 to 456 He worked on a barn for James Faunce about 1825.7 He had an estate probated in 1825 in Washington County, Pennsylvania.7

Biography

Samuel Cochran was born on 23 February 1795 in Pennsylvania.2,3 He and Margaret were married.4,5 He died on 8 March 1856, at age 61, in McDonough County, Illinois.6
He appeared on two documents in his father's probate file.7 He was a farmer.8 He purchased tea from John Mayes on the account of James Cochran in Washington County about 24 January 1817.9 He made several purchases at the vendue of in Donegal Township, Washington County, on 28 August 1818.10 Samuel was head of household on the 1830 US Census taken in Donegal Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania. This may have been this Samuel Cochran in Donegal Township. Washington County, Pennsylvania in 1830, However, the household was recorded as one male 15 to 20, one female 15 to 20 and one female 50 to 6011 Samuel was deeded property by William and Eleanor Hammond on 26 November 1831 in Morgan County, Ohio.12 Samuel deeded 83 acres to his brother John Lowrey Cochran on 4 March 1833 in Morgan County, Ohio. This was the 83 acres that Samuel bought from Hammond in 1831. Samuel was described as "of Denneggall Township in the County of Washington and Sate of Pennsylvania' and John "of the town of Zanesville in the State of Ohio".5 Samuel was head of household on the 1840 US Census taken in Donegal Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania. one male 40 to 50, two females under five and one female 30 to 4013 Samuel and Margaret deeded 71 acres on the "Waters of Buffalo Creek" to John McMurray on 2 March 1841 in Washington County, Pennsylvania. It borderd on property of Samuel McMurray14 Samuel and Margaret appeared on the 1850 US Census recorded on 24 September 1850 in McDonough County, Illinois, with Sarah, Almira, and Mary Catherine.15

James Watkins was born about 1811.3 He and Elizabeth B. Bozman were married on 28 April 1835 in Morgan County, Ohio.4,5 He and Amanda Pyle were married on 21 December 1870 in Morgan County, Ohio.6
James and Elizabeth lived in McConnelsville where James established himself as a saddler and also served as marshall in 1838. Elizabeth died in 1846 leaving James with five young children ... James and Elizabeth lived in McConnelsville where James established himself as a saddler and also served as marshall in 1838. Elizabeth died in 1846 leaving James with five young children7,8,1 He was a saddle and harness maker through at least 1860. On the 1870 census he was listed as a fire insurance agent. Three years later, in 1873, he sold his saddle business to his son James jr.9,10,11,12 James was county recorder in 1838 in Morgan County.13 James was mentioned in the will of Wilkes Bozman 30 March 1855 Morgan County, Ohio.2 He had been guardian of his children and made final settlement in January 1867 in Morgan County, Ohio.14 He was a fire insurance agent in 1870 in McConnelsville.15 James sold proerpty to his son James Watkins jr. in 1873 in Morgan County, Ohio.9 He was one of the men who organized The Pioneer Association. He was appointed to a committee on by-laws in McConnelsville, Morgan County, Ohio, on 29 July 1876.3 James was mentioned in the will of James Watkins, Jr., 16 October 1876 McConnelsville, Morgan County, Ohio. He added a codicil on 24 October 1876.16

Mary R. Watkins was born about 1838 in Ohio.1 She and James A. Roland were married on 19 December 1869 in Morgan County, Ohio.2
She recieved $45.05 as her part of her grandfather Wilkes Bozman's estate on 31 May 1856.3 She was tailoress in 1860.4 James and Mary appeared on the 1870 US Census recorded on 15 August 1870 in McConnelsville, Morgan County, Ohio, with her father James Watkins and her stepbrother Lorenzo McCoy who was listed as Lorenzo Watkins.5
