Fred Fouts was affiliated with Presbyterian.2 Fred was a member of the Tri-County Medical Society; Nebraska State Medical Association; American Medical Association, Nebraska Eye, Ear, Nose, and Throat Society; and the Omaha and Council Bluffs Ophthalomological and Otolaryngological Society.2 Fred was recorded on the 1880 US Census as a son in the household of Silas Fouts 1880 Lone Tree Precinct, Merrick County, Nebraska. Silas was listed as a widower1 He appeared on the census in 1895 in Osborne. He was also recorded on the same state census \\in the Eliza Carter household. Most likely he was residing there while attending school5 He attended high school in Osborne, Osborne County, Kansas, 1895.2 He was educated in Bellevue College.2 He graduated from in Creighton University, Omaha, Nebraska, in 1902. with an M.D.2 He was a physician from 1902 to 1904 in Osborne, Kansas.2 He was a physician from 1904 to 1905 in Central City, Nebraska.2 He was practicing medicine from 1905 to 1911 in Ichowfu, China.2 He was a staff member from 1911 to 1912 in Clifton Springs Sanitarium, New York.2 He was an eye, ear, nose, and throat specialist in 1912 in Central City, Nebraska.2,6,7 Fred Fouts was described as slender and of medium height with blue eyes and brown hair in 1918.8 He and Nellie Catherine Boring resided in Central City in 1918.8 He registered for the World War I draft 9 September 1918, in Merrick County, Nebraska. It stated under disabilities "Has been rejected for Medical Reserve Corp as physically disqualified."8 Fred and Nellie appeared on the 1920 US Census recorded on 15 January 1920 in 1919 Seventeenth Avenue, Central City, Merrick County, Nebraska.6 Fred and Nellie appeared on the 1930 US Census recorded on 15 April 1930 in 1919 Seventeenth Avenue, Central City, Merrick County, Nebraska. These were also two women lodgers who taught school7 Fred and Wilma appeared on the 1940 US Census recorded on 26 April 1940 in Central City, Merrick County, Nebraska, with their niece.9
